Here is a picture of the marine hose + the chrome junction + the VW hose. | |

I positioned the hose approximatley as it will lie in the engine and then cut it near the Subaru coolant outflow. | |

Its easy to cut. Just use a hacksaw and its done. | |

So here it is attached to the Subaru coolant outflow. The yellow line shows where I'll need to cut the firewall to accomodate the chrome junction. |
